BOSTON (AP) - Boston police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a car in the East Boston neighborhood.

The accident on Waldemar Avenue was reported at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The man’s name was not immediately released.

It was not clear if the driver, who stopped immediately, would face any charges. The vehicle had front-end damage.

An overturned shopping cart was visible at the scene, with groceries strewn about the roadway.

No other details were immediately released.
