SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - South Burlington police say a man arrested on charges of robbing a convenience store in the Vermont city has been linked to five robberies in the region.

Police say that just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Williston Road convenience store.

Witnesses gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was spotted a short time later by Winooski Police. The car refused to stop, but it was later stopped by Colchester Police using spike strips.

Police say the car was driven by 20-year-old Rebecca Robair, of Swanton, and 26-year-old Matthew Cobb, of Grand Isle. Authorities believe Cobb is responsible for five robberies since Dec. 9.

It’s unclear if Cobb and Robair have lawyers.
