COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s largest utility says it’s preparing for possible power outages from a wind storm that is forecast for Christmas Day.

Green Mountain Power says the wind storm could knock trees and branches onto power lines, particularly in areas that have tree damage from the snow storm two weeks ago that caused more than 100,000 outages.

GMP says it has lined up additional line workers and tree trimmers to help restore power if needed.
