MILTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a woman with stealing more than $466,000 from an elderly Milton couple.

Troopers say 45-year-old Dawn Greene of Georgetown worked as a caretaker for the couple, who were in their 90s. Police say the husband and wife have since died.

Authorities say when the couple’s nephew reviewed their financial records, he found numerous discrepancies and went to police.

Troopers say Greene wrote checks to herself from the couple’s accounts, including a check for $21,000, which police say Greene used to buy a new car.

Authorities say Greene defrauded the couple of more than $466,000 over a nine-month period.

Greene was arrested Tuesday and charged with exploiting an infirmed adult, theft and conspiracy.
