WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 51-year-old woman and her 14-year-old great-niece were killed in a fire at a Wilmington home that was intentionally set.

Police released the names of the victims of Tuesday’s fire. They are Pamela Pickett and her great-niece Makayla Pickett.

Investigators say Pamela Pickett escaped the burning home, but collapsed outside and died. The teen’s body was found inside by firefighters.

Authorities say the fire appeared to be arson, starting on the porch of the home around 5 a.m. Tuesday before spreading inside.

Three people escaped from the burning home.

No motive for settling the fire has been released and no suspects have been named.
