DALLAS (AP) - Authorities say a chain-reaction collision involving seven vehicles on the Dallas North Tollway has sent three people to hospitals.

The Dallas Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1zCzEaZ ) that the accident occurred Thursday evening when the driver of a speeding BMW crashed into another vehicle. Lonny Haschel of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the impact set off a “pingpong” effect of vehicles.

The three people taken to hospitals were the driver of the BMW and a couple in another vehicle. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials were working to clear the wreckage from the tollway.
