COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A married couple in Colorado Springs stands accused of stealing Christmas displays from dozens of families.

Police say 18-year-old Jeremy Lewallen and his 42-year-old wife Carrie Carley stole displays to decorate their own yard.

KKTV reports (https://bit.ly/1B7sCs4 ) that police were tipped by a neighbor who had his decorations stolen then spotted a very familiar looking Christmas display in the suspects’ front yard.

The arrest papers say that the couple admitted to stealing about $2,000 worth of decorations.

KKTV interviewed Carley, who says her husband acted alone and that she didn’t know the decorations were stolen.

The couple faces felony theft charges. The stolen decorations have been returned to their rightful owners.
