HOPE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a 32-year-old Belvidere man has been killed after he lost control of his vehicle and collided with another in northwest New Jersey.

State Police say that Andrew Petre lost control of his Chrysler PT Cruiser in the southbound lane of Route 519 in Hope around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday. His car spun into the northbound lane and was struck by a Hyundai Sonata driven by a 30-year-old Blairstown man.

Petre was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Joshua Gulick was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
