COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) - A 30-year-old man has died in Orange County after he ran a red light on his motorcycle and hit a sport utility vehicle.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1xmqHSZ ) that the motorcyclist was identified by the Orange County coroner’s office as Jonathan Vantrease of Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa police Lt. Greg Scott says Vantrease struck the front passenger side of a Toyota 4-Runner as the SUV was driving through an intersection.

The 27-year-old driver of the SUV was returning from a late-evening Christmas Eve church service and wasn’t injured.

Police say the driver stayed at the crash scene to answer questions and wasn’t arrested or cited.
