SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A Springfield attorney has been appointed as an associate judge in the 7th Judicial Circuit.

Chief Judge Kenneth Deihl said Tuesday that 39-year-old Jack D. Davis Jr. has been appointed to the seat in central Illinois.

According to The State Journal-Register (https://bit.ly/1sZvtP4), Davis said he’s privileged to serve the citizens of the state.

Davis has been an attorney for 14 years. He earned his law degree at Northern Illinois University in 2001.

Davis is the son of former state and U.S. Rep. Jack Davis Sr.
