ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The free public skating rink at Empire State Plaza is scheduled to close on Christmas and the day after.

The Office of General Services says the outdoor rink is shut on the holiday and then on Friday for maintenance.

It’s scheduled to reopen on Saturday, with a learn-to-skate clinic followed by open skating at 11 a.m.

Online registration for the Saturday clinics is closed.

The rink is generally open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, depending on weather.

Skate rentals are free on Fridays.
