SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Police in Southern California have arrested a woman for drunken driving after she hit another woman’s car, injuring her and killing her small Yorkie dog Gizzmo.

KEYT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1HJiV5d ) that the crash occurred at 7:45 a.m. Thursday when a woman drove out of a Santa Barbara gas station and collided with another car.

The woman in the car that was hit was traveling with her small Yorkie. Both women were transported to the hospital for minor injuries but Gizzmo died in the collision.

Investigators conducted a sobriety test on the first driver and found her blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.

She was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police did not release her name.

Both cars were towed away with major damage.
