GRENADA, Miss. (AP) - In Defense of Animals-Hope Animal Sanctuary is offering a $750 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of whoever dumped three newborn puppies at a Carrollton home.

The shelter’s operations manager, Sharon Stone, tells WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/1wHjAm9 ) she found the puppies Tuesday morning in a driveway on Highway 35.

Stone rescued the puppies, which were so young they had not yet opened their eyes.

The organization says it plans to launch a campaign next year to help curb such abandonments. It will be called “Abandon An Animal-Taxi to Jail.” tStone says it will work with law enforcement and citizens to see that those who abandon animals are prosecuted and punished.

Tips regarding suspects in the recent case can be reported to 662-809-4483.
