BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A transient faces a criminal endangerment charge after someone dropped some rifle rounds into a fire pit outside a Billings restaurant on Christmas Eve.

Police located 53-year-old James David Spottedwolf near the Rex Restaurant and arrested him.

Restaurant patrons and employees reported that gunshots had been fired at the entrance and shattered the glass in a large window. Officers found seven discharged .30-.30 rifle rounds in the fire pit and the surrounding patio area.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1wnZEQ8) surveillance video showed someone approach the pit, drop the items in the fire and quickly walk away.
