TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Now that the Christmas gifts are all unwrapped, what do you do with all that paper and packaging?

A holiday recycling program in Tulsa will permit residents to recycle basic wrapping paper and boxes.

Officials say most packaging and wrapping paper are recyclable in Tulsa’s recycling system, such as cardboard boxes and basic wrapping paper without foil and glitter.

Gift bags, foil, shiny or glitter wrapping paper, styrofoam, plastic bags, ribbons and bows, tinsel and Christmas lights and ornaments are not recyclable and must be thrown away.

Tulsa will also offer complimentary collection of live Christmas trees during December and January. Residents may place live Christmas trees in lengths shorter than six feet at the curb on their primary collection day. Artificial trees are not recyclable and must be discarded.
