BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police in Burlington, Vermont, are looking for a driver who caused a natural gas leak by crashing into an apartment building meter.

Police and fire fighters got multiple calls early Friday about a gas leak caused by a possible car crash. Firefighters evacuated area residences while crews stopped the leak. No one was injured, and residents were allowed back inside once the leak was fixed.

Police say whoever struck the meter left without stopping. They say the vehicle should have rear-end damage and a broken tail-light lens, and they’re asking anyone with information about the accident to call police.
