PHOENIX (AP) - A rollover accident has left five people seriously injured and closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 17 near Black Canyon City.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials say the freeway is closed about five miles south of Black Canyon City, which is north of Phoenix.

Authorities say two adults and three minors were hurt in the rollover Friday evening and taken to hospitals. Their names and ages weren’t immediately released.

ADOT officials say there’s no immediate estimate as to when the southbound lanes of the interstate near the crash site will be reopened and motorists are advised to expect delays.

They say travelers can consider using State Route 89 through Prescott and State Route 87 through Payson as alternate routes.
