ELLENWOOD, Ga. (AP) - DeKalb Police are searching for the driver of a BMW that fled the scene after striking a 6-year-old riding his bicycle on Christmas.

The incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. in suburban Atlanta at the corner of Wade Lake Trail and Wade Lake Lane in Ellenwood.

Police have not identified the child, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/1HMH22Z ) that he suffered serious injury.

Witnesses told police the car was a silver BMW coupe. It did not stop, they said.

Sgt. W.L. Wallace said the vehicle is believed to be a BMW 6 series from 2004-2011. It would have damage to front passenger side, Wallace said.
