PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have identified a man who they say was shot and killed by another man following a holiday visitation dispute.

Police Sgt. Trent Crump says 29-year-old Delmarc Forrester died Wednesday afternoon and the suspect remains at large.

According to authorities, Forrester and his girlfriend picked up her 6-year-old daughter from the home of the girl’s father Christmas Eve.

The father, 33-year-old Louis Davis, later called the couple and allegedly threatened them after they refused to meet with him. Police say Davis later showed up at their home and shot Forrester, who was waiting outside.

Crump says Davis and his ex-girlfriend fought over the gun and he then fled in a white 1992 Buick Roadmaster with Arizona license plates ARF6934.

Police say Davis may have ties to California.
