SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - About 70 people, including Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, rallied outside Salt Lake City Hall on Friday to show support for police while about 25 counter protesters demonstrated nearby against police brutality.

Dennis Marchant organized the pro-police rally, saying he believes most people support officers but those people are not being heard.

Reyes, the top law enforcement officer in the state, was among those in support.

Greg Lucero with the group Utah Against Police Brutality says police departments should be pushing to rid their departments of bad officers.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/145dGjW) the two demonstrations were peaceful.

Both rallies began at noon and lasted for about 45 minutes.
