WAIMEA, Hawaii (AP) - The Waimea Ocean Film Festival will be held on Hawaii’s Big Island from Jan. 1 - 9.
On tap will be nearly 70 films about the ocean experience. Organizers say the program features inspirational films that shed light on who we are.
The films touch on activities like surfing and paddling. They also explore the state of the ocean environment.
Many of the filmmakers will be on hand during screenings to answer questions.
The format of the festival is designed to create greater understanding of the ocean and island culture.
