MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota sophomore center Amanda Zahui (ZOW’-ee) B. has been named the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The award was announced Tuesday by the conference.

Zahui had 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Gophers to a comeback victory over 12th-ranked Nebraska Monday in the Big Ten opener for both teams. She also had four blocks and three steals in 36 minutes to help the Gophers improve to 12-1 overall. Zahui had 16 of her 20 points in the second half of that game. She ranks third in the nation with nine double-doubles.

Minnesota plays Thursday at Purdue.
