DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - People inside a Davenport home have safely fled a fire that spread from the chimney into the attic.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1CTjStu ) the blaze was reported around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday. District Chief Neil Gainey says a neighbor noticed that smoke wasn’t come out the house chimney but rather from the area below. The neighbor called 911, and the house occupants got out safely.

The fire cause is being investigated.
