MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - A judge in Medford took pity on a woman who ran over her naked boyfriend outside an Ashland motel.
Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Barnack told Beth Kathleen Smith and Richard Scott Conley to get on with their lives.
The judge found the 39-year-old woman guilty Wednesday of a misdemeanor charge of failing to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person. She received no prison time.
Conley was against the prosecution and said if Smith had been convicted of a felony she would not have been able to work as a nurse.
Conley says he was wrong in September of last year when he jumped on her car in an attempt to stop her from driving away. He suffered a broken pelvis, leg and ribs.
