SWANNANOA, N.C. (AP) - Buncombe County sheriff’s deputies say the shooting deaths of two people in a home in Swannanoa was a murder-suicide.

Deputies were called to the home around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Natalie Bailey said in a statement Monday that the victims were 35-year-old Binia Bexara Maldonado and a neighbor, 31-year-old Jose David Banillo.

Bailey said investigators determined the shooting was a murder suicide.
