FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - The state fire marshal’s office says at least one of two overnight blazes that hit businesses in Falmouth was arson.

Investigators said Monday the fire inside the Dollar Tree store at the Falmouth Plaza was deliberately set and a criminal investigation is underway.

The fire started shortly before 1 a.m., at roughly the same time flames were causing extensive damage to a fabric store across the street from the plaza.

No injuries were reported in either blaze.

The fire marshal says the cause of the fabric store fire has not yet been determined.

Falmouth Fire Capt. Greg Clements tells the Cape Cod Times that (https://bit.ly/1ubvm2b ) several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution out of concern the two-alarm blaze might spread.
