AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Three people have pleaded guilty to their roles in an assault on a couple at the Augusta Riverwalk in May 2013.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1Gawg5C ) 23-year-old Robey Moses, 22-year-old Kevin Richardson and 21-year-old Domonique Hale pleaded guilty Monday in Richmond County Superior Court.

Authorities have said two people were attacked with a metal baseball bat after one of the suspects asked to use their cellphone to call for a ride. Prosecutors have said one of the victims was beaten so severely that doctors had to remove part of his skull.

Moses and Richardson were sentenced to 30 years in prison on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery and robbery. Hale was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of probation.
