HENRICO, Va. (AP) - Henrico County Police say a cat that died last week tested positive for rabies.

Lt. C.J. Eley says it’s the 11 confirmed rabies case in the county this year.

Eley said Monday in a news release that the Animal Protection Unit took the cat to a local veterinarian on Thursday after responding to an animal related call. The cat later died.

Eley says no humans or other animals were exposed.
