MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) - Police say two officers were assaulted by a man following a disturbance at a bar on Long Island.

It happened at 10:45 p.m. Sunday outside Green’s Pub in Manhasset.

According to Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/12DM2Jh ), Frank Filippelli, of Old Brookville, faces charges of second-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration.

Nassau County police say Filippelli ran from the scene when he saw officers arrive. Police followed him into an alley where they attempted to speak to him but he fled again, slamming an officer into his patrol car.

Police say during an ensuing struggle with police, Filippelli punched one officer in the face and attempted to bite him and another officer.

It wasn’t immediately known if Filippelli had a lawyer.
