BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has been accused of importing deer from a New York captive hunting area.

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Service said Monday that wardens obtained evidence of four deer being imported from the Lowlands Whitetails Hunting Ranch in Lowville, New York, at the home of Alan Baker of Burlington. They executed a search warrant last week.

The Wildlife Service has accused Baker of importing the deer from the New York facility for the last three years and attempting to report the animals were killed in Vermont.

Baker is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Feb. 10, 2015. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer and a home phone number was not listed.
