INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Pacers say backup center Ian Mahinmi (yahn ma-HEEN’-mee) will be out six to eight weeks with a torn plantar fascia in his left foot.

The Pacers announced Sunday that Mahinmi sustained the injury in the first half of Friday’s 102-101 overtime loss to Sacramento.

Mahinmi has appeared in all 20 of the Pacers’ games, averaging 4.9 points and 5.8 rebounds. The 6-foot-11 sixth-year pro from France is the fourth-leading rebounder on the Pacers and has shored up an injury-depleted frontcourt that has seen starting center Roy Hibbert miss four games and power forward David West miss 15 games.

Mahinmi’s injury leaves Hibbert and 6-11 rookie Shayne Whittington as the Pacers’ only healthy centers.
