GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say a 13-year-old North Dakota boy driving a motorcycle died after colliding with a car in Nelson County.

The Star Tribune of Minneapolis reports (https://strib.mn/1w4payj ) the state Highway Patrol says Dustin Jorde of Lakota died in the crash near Lakota. Authorities say Jorde ran a stop sign near dusk Friday and was struck by a car.

The patrol says the minimum age for operating a motorcycle in North Dakota is 14. The agency says Jorde was wearing a helmet at the time.

The car’s driver wasn’t injured.
