JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - Police say a 33-year-old Joliet woman has been run over and killed after falling on a road during an argument.

The (Joliet) Herald-News reports (https://bit.ly/1IoQwVg ) the Will County Coroner’s Office says Syreeta Campbell was pronounced dead early Sunday.

Police Chief Brian Benton says the car she was riding in pulled over around 1:30 a.m. He says Campbell and a male driver were arguing and exited the car.

Benton says the man got back in the car and lost sight of Campbell. The man tells police he tried to yell at an approaching car to stop, but it ran over Campbell.

Benton says the driver didn’t realize she hit a person and kept driving. Police found her at her home and say there was no indication of impairment. He says she isn’t being charged.
