JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - A Joliet man has turned himself in to police after a fatal shooting at a party.

The (Joliet) Herald-News reports (https://bit.ly/1ubmpG8 ) Aloysius Alexander is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Deputy Police Chief Al Roechner says Alexander called police Saturday, hours after the shooting that killed 59-year-old Johnny Lockhart of Joliet and critically injured a 27-year-old man. Roechner says the second man was alert and talking late Saturday.

Police recovered a weapon near Alexander’s apartment.

Chief Brian Benton said the shooting isn’t related to a handful of recent shootings reported in the area this week.

Alexander is being held at the Will County jail. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
