BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - The Humane Society is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the capture of those responsible for the shooting death of a quarter horse near Butte.

Police suspect a confused hunter may have shot and killed the horse along Moulton Reservoir Road.

The albino female quarter horse was in its corral when it was killed by a shot from a high-powered rifle.

The animal was worth about $5,000.
