HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan Secretary of State office in the Detroit enclave of Hamtramck is closing for several days as it moves to a new location.

Plans call for the office at 8717 Joseph Campau Street to be closed as of Monday and it will reopen on Dec. 15 at 9001 Joseph Campau Street.

The new location will have a larger lobby, accessible public restrooms, power-assist door openers, ample parking and new counters, paint and carpeting. The office also will offer a 24-hour self-service station as an option for customers renewing license plate tabs.

Several other Secretary of State offices are open nearby in Detroit to accommodate those who would usually go to the Hamtramck location.
