MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - The sister of a victim in last week’s shootings that left five people dead asks that Monongalia County residents forgive the shooter.

Forty-year-old Rachel Coll of Seguin, Texas, says she hopes the people of Morgantown and Westover will absolve the shooter and move forward. Coll’s sister, 39-year-old Sharon Kay Berkshire, was one of four people killed in the shooting spree. The shooter, 39-year-old Jody Lee Hunt, committed suicide.

Coll made the comments to The Associated Press on Monday while friends and family gathered for Berkshire’s funeral at Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown.

A fundraiser was started in Berkshire’s honor through the online fundraising site GoFundMe. Nearly $8,000 has been collected.

Funerals for the other victims were held Friday.
