FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Two people have been arrested after a former co-worker at a Fort Worth mall was found beaten, bound, strangled and set afire at her apartment.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram (https://bit.ly/1A9L8PI ) reports 25-year-old Carter Carol Cervantez and her boyfriend, 19-year-old Clarence “David” Mallory, were arrested over the weekend. Warrants accuse them of capital murder in the Nov. 28 slaying of 31-year-old Ashlea Ann Harris and an August theft at Hulen Mall’s American Eagle store, where all three worked at the time.

Both remained in Mansfield Jail Monday on $600,000 bond. Attorney information was not listed.

Homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman says it’s unclear whether Harris was targeted in retaliation for identifying the couple as potential suspects in the August theft or “as a way to gain access to the store again.”
