ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police are investigating two more fatal shootings as the city’s homicide toll continues to grow.

The first came just before 6 p.m. Monday in north St. Louis.

Police say 29-year-old Jamie Baker of Jennings was shot multiple times while walking with a 36-year-old man who survived the attack by three men.

It was the city’s 146th homicide of the year.

Minutes later, police responded to another fatal shooting less than two miles away. That incident claimed the life of a 25-year-old William Duvall, who was found on a front porch with multiple torso wounds.

St. Louis recorded 120 homicides in 2013 and 113 homicides in 2012. The city last exceeded the current year’s homicide total in 2008.
