NEWTON, Iowa (AP) - Four counts have been dropped in the Iowa case against a California man accused of posing as an actor from the “Twilight” movie series.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/1yL8sFm ) that 33-year-old David LaVera, of San Diego, no longer faces two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of invasion of privacy. He still faces state charges of enticing a minor, carrying weapons, attempting to entice a minor, and third-degree sexual abuse. And he also faces federal charges of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of pornography. He’s pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

Authorities say that while LaVera was in Jasper County this spring, he posed as “Kiowa Gordon,” an actor in the “Twilight” series, and visited two schools in Newton.
