BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - The city of Bluefield has a new logo.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports (https://bit.ly/12oQhbS) that city officials voted unanimously Tuesday on the new logo.

The illustration dubbed as the “railyard crest” pays tribute to the city’s railroad history with a train and blue and green colors. It includes the wording “Bluefield, West Virginia - Nature’s Air-Conditioned City.”

Assistant City Manager Josh Cline says the city will still continue to use the city seal on all official documents. The new logo will be used on new vehicles purchased by the city and in other promoting the city.

City Manager Dane Rideout called the new logo a “fresh start” that shows the city cares about its image.
