BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Burlington Police are investigating after a number of gunshots were heard not far from downtown.

Officers were called to a North Winooski Avenue address at about 8:30 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of what sounded like gunfire in the area.

When officers arrived they did not find a suspect, but they did find empty shell casings on the ground and damage that may have been the result of targeted gunfire.

There have been no reports of injuries and no firearms have been recovered.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Burlington police.
