CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A James Island man will spend life in prison for the stabbing death of his girlfriend.

Area media outlets report that 30-year-old Robert Kronsberg cursed at Circuit Judge Roger Young in Charleston County Court as he was sentenced Tuesday to the maximum sentence for the crime.

Kronsberg was convicted last week of murder in the death of 25-year-old Tasha Lucia. Authorities say she was stabbed at the couple’s James Island apartment in February of last year. Prosecutors say she was stabbed as many as 15 times.

Sentencing was delayed until this week with Kronsberg facing from 30 years to life in prison. Kronsberg will not be eligible for parole.
