LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Freshman Kaylee Page has left the Nebraska women’s basketball program.

Coach Connie Yori announced Tuesday night that she had released Page from her scholarship and also had released Kaylee’s younger sister, Lanie, from the national letter of intent she had signed with the Cornhuskers.

Kaylee Page came to Nebraska from Alma, Kansas. The 6-foot-2 forward was the Sunflower State’s 2014 high school player of the year. She scored a total of two points in limited minutes over five games.

No reason for Kaylee Page’s release was announced. Yori said in a statement that the transition to college can be difficult and that she encourages her players to “trust the process and work hard to improve each day, and good things will happen.”
