BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Elvar Fridriksson had 19 points and seven assists to lead LIU Brooklyn to its first win of the season, a convincing 83-70 victory over Maine on Tuesday night.

Landon Atterberry scored 16 points, Iverson Fleming added 11 and Gerrell Martin chipped in 10 for LIU Brooklyn (1-6).

Maine held a slim 34-30 halftime lead, but Fridriksson nailed a 3 to open the second half, Atterberry hit another 3-pointer and Nura Zanna drove for a layup as the Blackbirds took a 38-36 lead. LIU Brooklyn stretched its advantage to 60-47 at the midway point of the second half.

Maine’s Marko Pirovic nailed a 3-point jumper with 1:59 remaining to close to 77-66.

The Blackbirds made 10 of 17 from long range, part of making 27 of 54 attempts from the floor (50 percent).

Shaun Lawton had 16, Garet Beal added 14 and Zarko Valjarevic chipped in 12 for Maine (1-7).
