JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Joe Balash, a former Alaska Natural Resources commissioner, will serve as chief of staff for incoming U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan.

Mike Anderson, who served as Sullivan’s campaign spokesman, will be press secretary. DeLynn Henry, a scheduler and assistant to the late former Sen. Ted Stevens, will be director of scheduling.

Sullivan defeated Democratic Sen. Mark Begich in last month’s election. He will be sworn in Jan. 6, and plans to announce additional staff members in the coming weeks.

Balash succeeded Sullivan as Natural Resources commissioner and was a key member of the state team working to advance a major liquefied natural gas project in Alaska.

Balash was replaced as commissioner when Gov. Bill Walker was elected.
