TALLAPOOSA, Ga. (AP) - State fire officials say a toddler has died in a west Georgia house fire.

Glenn Allen, a spokesman for the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s office, says a 2-year-old boy died in a house fire Tuesday morning in Tallapoosa, about 60 miles west of downtown Atlanta, near the Alabama border.

Allen says a 3-year-old boy was hospitalized and the children’s mother, who is pregnant, was also hospitalized with burns to her face and hands and smoke inhalation. Details on their conditions weren’t immediately available.

Allen says the cause of the fire is unclear, although investigators believe it may have been linked to an electrical problem. Allen says authorities will continue investigating the cause of the fire Wednesday.
