QUINCY, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois Department of Transportation will have a public informational meeting on planned improvement of the Quincy Memorial Bridge at U.S. 24 over the Mississippi River. The meeting will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Quincy.

The open house-style meeting will allow visitors to attend at any point during the meeting.

The purpose of the planning study underway is to evaluate alternatives for the upgrading of the existing bridge. It could mean rehabilitating or reconstructing or building a new bridge on the current or a new alignment.

The meeting will seek members to serve on an advisory committee. IDOT representatives will be there to answer questions.
