MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A panel of community leaders in North Dakota’s fourth-largest city has narrowed the list of applicants for city manager in Minot.

Thirty-six people applied to succeed David Waind, who is stepping down in the spring after 35 years. There are now three remaining, including current City Finance Director Cindy Hemphill.

The other two finalists are Greg Sund, a former Dickinson city administrator who is now a county administrator in Kansas, and Minot native Kevin Degenstein, an engineer and energy company executive in Great Falls, Mont.

Final interviews are late next week.
