GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - Georgetown County officials say a body found in the Sampit River last weekend was that of a boater who had been missing since January.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that Coroner Kenneth Johnson said x-rays provided by the family confirmed the body was that of 45-year-old Keith Edward Sullivan.

Sullivan had been missing since Jan. 12.

Johnson said an autopsy showed that Sullivan drowned.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson says Sullivan had been living on a boat anchored in the river in Georgetown. His boat remained anchored on the river.
